This function permits the creation of new person records and the updating of existing person records. For most intents and purposes in ARNIE, “person” and “user” are synonymous.
Users with 'Superadmin' role in ARNIE can create Person. Navigation from the main menu > Create Person. The function has the following components:
Create Person
A new person record is created through Create Person. User ID, first name, last name and location/zone are obligatory. A role or roles for the new person may be specified through a checklist of all roles. Typically users should not be allocated more than one or two roles (menus tend to become unmanageably large, and such “omnipotent” users tend to defeat the ARNIE workflow logic).
Some roles require additional information to be specified e.g. Assessors require an Assessor Licence number to be specified. Some roles have business restrictions that are implied but not enforced by ARNIE e.g. a repairer should not fulfil any other role.
Note: Once a person is created, the user account may be used to log in with the default password (currently “abc123”). The new user must change this password before being permitted to access ARNIE.
Manage Workgroups
Once a person record is created, he/she may be added to one or more work groups. ARNIE forwards automatically to the Manage Work-group screen. Access to specific data (jobs, quotes, etc) is workgroup based. ARNIE workgroups are based on two concepts (1) the insurer brand and (2) location. Note that workgroups are managed separately from the location that is specified in their person record – e.g. a person can be a member of the ARNIE Acacia Ridge workgroup without being located at Acacia Ridge.
Manage workgroups is accessed through the edit person screen and is part of the default create person workflow. To add a person to a job, specify the workgroup with the brand and location drop-downs and click Add Workgroup. To remove a person from a workgroup, click Delete against the appropriate workgroup on the list.
Reset Password
In cases where a person has forgotten their ARNIE password, a Super Administrator can reset their password by clicking on the Reset Password link from the Edit Person screen. This will reset the person’s password to the default password (abc123). The person will need to specify a new password before accessing any ARNIE functionality. The Reset Password function does not appear if the person is inactive or if the person’s password has already been reset and they have not logged in and specified a new password.
Edit Person
An existing person record may be edited through the Search Person screen – either by clicking on a person number in the results list or submitting a search with a single record result. The edit person screen is identical to the create person screen.
View History
Changes to a persons profile are recorded in a history log which may be viewed by clicking View History on the Edit Person screen.
Search People
The Search people screen returns a list of all ARNIE users. The screen has many filters to narrow the search. Filtering is available by Name of Person, UserID, Person Status (type of role) and based on their work-group. Results displayed from the search allows users to view and edit the person. If only one Person is returned by the search, ARNIE forwards directly to the Person Form screen.
